Hereford Workshop Family Fun Day, May 2024

Hereford Workshop hosted a Family Fun Day on Saturday 11th May 2024 at its site at Belmont Community Centre. The Centre has a lovely outdoor space, ideal for the brilliant array of stalls, games and activities that were on offer which were run by the tutors, students and their families. The weather was perfect: a beautiful sunny spring afternoon. There was a lot of excitement for the Genius Challenge Cup competition, new for this year! We had a special visit from the Purple Spider Learning Bus which provided an amazing selection of learning resources and craft activities.

The indoor hall was used for the Genius Challenge Cup – this is the first year of this brilliant contest and attracted great interest from our very competitive students! There were three categories: Bee Genius, Square Genius and Star Genius. The winner of each category was awarded a trophy to keep.

Bee Genius Winners: Phoebe won the High School Category and Evie won in the Primary School one.

Refreshments were provided by the Centre’s manager who made delicious burgers and hot dogs – all freshly cooked in the Centre’s kitchen. It was a beautiful, sunny day and everyone was delighted that a parent volunteer had organised an ice cream machine – over 80 ice creams were sold!
